What are you trying to do? (please be as specific as possible and include relevant screenshots, code snippets)
I’m trying to access my homepage via the Plasmic web app, and because we have some a/b tests running, it takes literal hours for the page to open. It’s very common I’ll need to wait up to 30 minutes before I can make another selection before I get the chrome “Please wait” pop-up.
What are the reproduction steps?
Just opening the homepage for my site.

Hey @andrew_vo
Please provide the project ID so we can investigate it accordingly.
Hey @muhammad_asim,
Here’s the project ID: axF6fYH1smGgRtDxQ1gsBn
The main issue is that pages with multiple components constantly freeze up, with our homepage being the absolute worst example.
It seems like loading all the sub-components alongside our active A/B tests causes the Studio canvas to completely stall out. It keeps triggering Chrome’s “Page Unresponsive” popup, and we end up waiting up to 30 minutes just to click or select anything.
Could you take a look on your end and see what’s getting stuck during initialization? Let me know if you need any other details from us!
Hi @andrew_vo
I’m looking into this now to find out what’s causing the canvas to stall on your homepage, and I’ll update you as soon as I get some updates.
In the meantime, could you try the following and let me know if it helps?
-
Try Focus mode, you can open a lighter page first and turn on Focus Mode by pressing M (or from the View menu). Then switch to the homepage.
-
If some of those A/B variants are no longer running, try removing their Global variants. That reduces the number of frames Studio renders.
Hi @andrew_vo
Quick update: We found what was making the homepage canvas stall and released a fix. Could you open the homepage again? It should load much faster now.
My earlier suggestion still applies. Your project has a lot of Global variants, and Studio renders a separate frame for each one, so the homepage still has a lot to load. Focus mode shows one frame at a time. Removing the Global variants for A/B tests that are no longer running would also help.
Thanks
