State array variable not updating properly

Hi I’m having trouble creating array state variable I’m not sure if this is a bug or I’m doing it wrong but I’ve done this before so I’m guessing it’s a bug. Whenever I create an array it just turns it into a string instead of a list. Even though I’ve set it as an array or object.
