Hi, this is just a friendly observation. I have been playing around with Plasmic this week after a long break since I first discovered it. I understand the immense value of Plasmic, and I think it’s outstanding. However, as a designer with little coding aptitude, I really need some better getting-started resources that go a little further in terms of interaction for components. I feel like I’m staring up a vast mountain to get out of it what I want. The ability to control states of various components (hide this, but show that) feels like trying to understand rocket science. There seems to be very low-level intro stuff and nothing for intermediate-level tutorials. Maybe I’m not discovering the right resources, but I’ve spent the last three hours trawling and can’t find anything that seems to help. Does anyone else have (of had) this problem?
Hi @tony_key, welcome to the forum!
For interactive components, I recommend checking out our docs on variants (esp. interactive variants) and interactions as starting points. After that, I agree that the tutorials are a bit more scattered and technical.
Maybe you could tell me what you’re trying to build, and I can help point you to the right place?
Thank you, Jason. I will do that right away. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! Apologies for my late response.
I am trying to build an app UI. The goal is to convert my Figma designs into Plasmic, which could then be handed off to engineers. But to go further, I want to include basic interactions, switch states, hide and show things, etc.
I’ve watched the interaction video on YouTube repeatedly, and I just can’t get it to fit. I’m using Axure, Webflow, and Figma, and the difference in how plasmic works is a tough one to understand.
Plasmic is awesome, and I have no complaints other than a big lack of learning resources. I want to become proficient, but I definitely feel like not being a developer is keeping me out of the club!
