Gnarly bug in Artboard putting in a section

What are you trying to do? (please be as specific as possible and include relevant screenshots, code snippets)

I wanted to add in a section, but I realized that I didn’t give it an underling scratch art board to be put on, so I tried exiting and then it caused a really gnarly bug where the screen went black and an infinite modal that couldn’t escape.

What are the reproduction steps?
