How do you change the artboard background?

I have a question, i can not figure this out. I am designing code components and i have the PlasmicCanvasHost wrap in my ThemeProvider. My theme has dark|light mode and basically i need most colors to inherit background and text colors which works. But i can not seem to set the studio canvas background for custom components. it always transparent. how can i tell the studio globally to use black as canvas background?

You can set the artboard background per artboard but unfortunately can’t change the default:
