Two features missing in Plasmic that would rule the world of No-Code

Plasmic is an excellent platform, but it lacks two key features that could transform the world of No-Code.

Currently, I feel the below after demoing Plasmic

  • For No Coders - You can build Websites or CMS, not Web Apps
  • For Coders, the possibilities are endless.

To bridge the gap and as a No-coder myself, I would like to have the below integrations, which led me to give up on Plasmic in the middle of a project after having a tough time unless you host your project, which No-coders are unfamiliar with:

  1. Supabase Integration
  2. An OpenID or Oauth2 Integration

Imagine the potential of Plasmic with an OpenID or Oauth2 Integration where you can insert your own Authorisation URL, Client ID, Client Secret, and Redirect URI. This would enable the integration of the most prominent apps, including Google, Slack, Asana, Facebook, Github, Instagram, Salesforce, Twitter, Zendesk, Discord, etc. —all the major apps, really. List of OAuth providers - Wikipedia This could be a game-changer for Plasmic.

Also, please don’t integrate apps individually if they all carry the exact OAuth mechanism. We fill in the info in a Generic API (not the currently available browser API), and it integrates into any OAuth mechanism.

I think this is already available.

Please check the docs.

I’m currently struggling with React based Supabase Auth integration. There are some tutorials, but I’m still doing something wrong and it’s taking weeks now. So I agree with the author of the posts, NoCode Supabase Integration would be amazing

@yogi_yang Currently with code, you have to self host. We’re asking for No-code built-in into Plasmic for Auth, Database and wishfully RLS working.

Kind of how Weweb has it now. I understand your target may not be No-Coders 100% but just expressing my wish to do wonders with Plasmic if these two integrations are available.

I still love Plasmic and find it’s experience wonderful among others and will use it for other related projects, just not Web apps, unless I learn how to code.
